Procedure Details
Silicone Breast Augmentation
This patient came to my office after pregnancy and breastfeeding seeking improvement in breast shape, fullness, and overall contour. Like many women, she initially believed that a breast lift combined with augmentation would be necessary to achieve her goals.
During her consultation, we performed a detailed examination, reviewed her anatomy, discussed her priorities, and utilized 3D simulation technology to evaluate different options. Although a lift was certainly an option, I felt that restoring volume alone could provide a significant improvement while avoiding additional scars and recovery associated with mastopexy.
After a thoughtful discussion, we elected to proceed with bilateral breast augmentation using 325 cc Mentor silicone implants placed through an inframammary approach. Surgery was performed using a no-touch Keller funnel technique and meticulous pocket preparation to optimize implant positioning and minimize contamination.
Her early postoperative result demonstrates an important principle in aesthetic surgery: the best operation is not always the biggest operation. In carefully selected patients, restoring volume alone can dramatically improve upper pole fullness, breast projection, and overall breast shape while maintaining a natural appearance.
Every patient is different. Successful outcomes depend on individualized planning, honest conversations about goals and expectations, and selecting the procedure that best matches the patient's anatomy rather than applying a one-size-fits-all approach.
I am grateful for the trust my patients place in me and proud to share this beautiful early result.
